really though, they don't make 'em any cuter then this. sorry for the lack of humility, but it can't be helped! :) My friend Yvonne came to visit us! (she lives in MA) It was the first time she met Shane & Julia. They loved each other immediately. No shock really. She is one of my favorite people on earth and they must have felt it.

One of the last pics ever taken of Shane with his beloved binky, actually. Happy and sad to be honest. Its SUCH a big part of his baby days - gone. (typing that just made my eyes fill up) BUT he gave it up SO easily (WAY easier then we imagined. I mean, come on, you've followed this blog. HOW many pics are there of Shane and his binks. LOTS) Anyway! At least now I don't have to tolerate listening to everyone and their brother weigh in on the subject. I was about to have a t-shirt made that read "F**k off. He'll give it up when he's good and ready." ;) I'm such a sweetheart, aren't I?

I mean... really. I can barely stand it. He is usually so silly, but not with his guitar.

That is serious business. He is SO his daddy's boy.

....But, we are looking more alike, maybe we always have. Same eye brows, nose, same cheeks. And Julia IS her Dad. It's kind of striking how much she looks like him. I'll post a pic soon to prove it, in case you haven't already noticed.

Obviously Shane knows he is TWO and is acting accordingly. the closeups are pics he took of himself w/my camera when I was in the bathroom. the other pic is him hiding behind the rocking chair, playing his father's solitaire game. And then.....I walked out into the kitchen b/c he was being too quite, only to find him on TOP of the table with all of his cars. I scolded him but his response was to smile all adorable. Trouble, trouble!

Kern River Visit!

Eric's extended family has a cabin on the river. We go up there every summer. This was the first time Shane went in the river. He really enjoyed it! This was his 3rd Kern trip and Julia's first. We only stayed a day and a night (used to stay longer, but with 2 little ones, not so easy lol), but it was fun & peaceful. SO peaceful that it never feels like enough once we are home & back into the daily hussle.
