Halloween 2010 Pics

I could give a play by play of our Halloween, but its pretty obvious. :) Shane didn't want to get into his costume at ALL - but as soon as we forgot about it and said whatever, he was willing to wear it. THEN HAD SO much FUN! He was an ADORABLE Buzz Lightyear! And Julia was the perfect lil devil! Watching Shane go up to doors, listening to his little voice say trick or treat, hearing him say Happy Halloween and THANK YOU to EVERY person - just melted our hearts.

Julia wasn't sure about the 'going up to houses' bit - but she did it and seemed ok after a few houses.

Labor Day weekend picnic

My mother in law's extended family had a picnic at a local park. Lots of good food & a nice time. :)

Santa Barbara Zoo Visit!

We drove to Santa Barbara today and it was the perfect day for it! 68F, blue skies, sunny w/a slight breeze - just perfect! (the ideal break away from our valley's blasted 105F) We learned quickly that we prefer this zoo over LA Zoo. It's so much easier to do with toddlers and almost all the exhibits are up close and personal. The icing on the cake was Shane got to feed a giraffe! Once we got back to the car, we drove around near the beach (the kids fell asleep almost instantly) w/the windows down just enjoying the ocean air and COOL breeze. A lovely day. :)

One of my moms club friends hosted playgroup this week and invited the kids to come ride. She works at a ranch, trains horses, does kids parties, etc. She was SO great & patient with the kids (and the moms lol), the kids were allowed to feed treats, pet, brush, ride - the whole works. What an awesome time! He LOVED it, wasn't scared at ALL - which surprised me since he's a fairly cautious kid. He LOVED every second!

when we walk away from Mickey, Shane waves, blows a kiss, and says I love you Mickey! SOOOO darn innocent & cute. Can't he STAY this way forever?!


Shane LOVES Autopia! He did this twice that day. He steers and Eric works the pedals. Shane was smiling & shouting "I'm doing it all by myself!" SO, so cute!

(Julia wasn't there w/us obviously. She was having fun at her Grandma and Grandpa's house. We took Shane as a special treat. Plus, Julia doesn't care yet. Oh - but she WILL and we can't wait! I SO can't wait to parade her around that park dressed as Snow White or Belle!!!)
